
Crack the eggs into a shallow dish or bowl.
Add the salt, pepper, and optional milk or water to the eggs. Whisk well until everything is combined.
Heat the oil or butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
Take one slice of bread and dip it into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated.
Carefully place the soaked bread into the hot pan.
Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Repeat with the remaining slices of bread.
